Indonesian Go-Jek the Bike – Taxi Service will be setting their foot in India in 2018 as reports suggest. In 2016, Go-Jek had accquired two Indian Startups based in Bengaluru and Gurgoan respectively for an undisclosed amount.
Go-Jek plans to setup its Research & Development wing where it plans to hire around 100 of Sr. Engineers in next Six Months.
Go-Jek And Its Success
The company, founded in 2011 by Nadiem Makarim, began its journey in Indonesia as a bike-taxi service.
With time, the company spread its foothold into food, courier, and grocery delivery verticals. It competes against global cab aggregator, Uber, and its local challenger, Grab in Indonesia.
At present, Go-Jek claims to have 200K motorbike drivers on its platform.
